The study of Herbalism is a holistic practice that encourages students to find wonder and healing in nature. Rudolph Steiner connected herbalism as therapeutic, and working with such healing plants can help us develop intuition and spiritual identity. When children have a knowledge of herbs, it becomes a meaningful tool in self soothing, healing, and connection. Through this unit students will get an opportunity to discover the many uses and rich history of Lavender through ancient practices, artistic expression, and self reflection. My hope is that they become inspired and comforted by their herbal knowledge and share it with their family and friends seeking alternative wellness methods.
